Minister Johanna Wanka puts the cleanrooms into operation at the touch of a button.
Hannover has taken another leap forward in the field of biotechnology: on 16 May, Hannover Medical School (MHH) opened its new cleanrooms: special production areas in which innovative implants are to be created. The facility is operated in conjunction with corlife GbR,  and the state of Lower Saxony and the European Commission have funded its construction to the tune of around one million euros. Professor Johanna Wanka, Lower Saxony’s minister for science and culture, opened the rooms together with  Professor Christopher Baum (research dean at MHH), Professor Axel Haverich (director of MHH’s Department of Cardiothoracic, Transplantation and Vascular Surgery (HTTG), and Dr Michael Harder, managing director of corlife.
